Public Infrastructure Reporting
Mobile platform enabling citizens to report landslides, water problems, and infrastructure issues to local authorities with photo documentation and GPS tracking.
Empowering Citizens Through Technology
Chhu Lam (meaning "water path" in Dzongkha) is a civic technology platform that enables Bhutanese citizens to report infrastructure problems like landslides, water issues, and road damage directly to local authorities.
Working with local government and community leaders, I designed a platform that makes it easy for citizens to contribute to their community's wellbeing while providing authorities with actionable, geotagged reports.
Disconnected Reporting
Citizens had no direct way to report infrastructure issues, leading to delayed responses and recurring problems that affected community safety.
- •No centralized reporting system
- •Limited communication between citizens and authorities
- •Difficulty documenting exact locations and conditions
Direct Citizen Reporting
Created a mobile-first platform with GPS tracking, photo documentation, and direct routing to relevant authorities for faster issue resolution.
- ✓GPS-tagged reports with photo evidence
- ✓Real-time status updates for reporters
- ✓Category-based routing to appropriate departments
